I hope that the fact you're commenting (and that you read my very tl;dr post) means you're feeling better? *hugs gently*
After that I tentatively delve into other fics by other writers. I've just been burned too many times by a fic that sounded innocent enough and then hit me with some awful... whatever.
*nods vigorously* It's a dangerous world we're living in. There are some truly bad, traumatizing things out there.
I think if we teach "newbies" nothing else, we should teach them to do concise, accurate summaries and specific, clear warnings.
To be fair, someone should teach me how to do that. I warn for things like "Pansy," "abuse of the word wet," and "I think this is angst." Granted, I rarely have things to warn for. Except kinky and fluffy sex and random bondage, but hey, who needs a warning for that? Right?
if there was some point that ended up turning me off to the whole fic, I'm going to go by my mama's advice, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
That's it. I can omit minor quibbles, but if something turned me off, I probably stopped reading. Or I just skimmed the ending. I definitely stopped reading carefully after that. How could I possibly review then?
And thank you! *squishes*
