Congrats on the wins at Smutastic! :D

And, I have to say, my priorities list changes a lot, but it's similar to yours. Ever since I started writing (or delurked, as you called it), writing has been my top priority. I figure I'll be better off focusing on what I put out there than what other people are putting out there.

As for reading, I do personal entries first, then modly posts for anything I'm participating in, before I look at fic. And then, I look through things my friends have posted. I will say I probably read more pairings than you do, only because I'll read almost anything until I have a distinct reason not to. Then, through recs and fest posts and comm posts.

I have to admit though, I don't read as much as I used to, and I certainly don't review as much. In fact, I suck at the whole reviewing thing, and usually never get around to it, as much as I swear that, this time, I will. But that doesn't mean I don't like something (this would be a good time to point out that I really did love One Harry Potter, even though I read it in PDF and never came back to tell you ♥). I'm with you on the whole "if I don't like it, I won't pretend I did" thing, but I don't judge stories based on who wrote them, how experienced the author is, or how many reviews it has, because I know there are people out there like me who read it, liked it, and didn't have either the time or eloquence to say so.

That being said, I will read stuff from authors I know and trust first just because, well, that's how I am.

So, all in all, no, you're not being naive. At least, not in my opinion.

Ha, that turned out longer than I meant it to. I just hope it makes sense.
