In other news, I'm still busy. DAMNIT! But I'm currently trying to catch up with my flist and write two gift!ficlets.

Ahem. I have a question.

Do YOU (writers) post your stories on Fanfiction.net? If yes, do you post your more explicit stories there? I mean, obviously it's not a place where you post PWPs and outright porn, but where exactly is the limit? And are you concerned about limits? I ask because I've seen a lot of fairly explicit stories there, and I thought that was a no-no. But then again, stories I've seen, although they were explicit, they were ... tame? But perhaps my definition of tame is fucked up?

I post ALL my stories on ff.net. I've heard that they don't allow "explicit content" but the key seems to be complaints. I have a friend that posted a story there and apparently they made her take it down, even though it was a hellava lot less graphic than some of mine. So, as long as people love you and won't complain, you can get away with posting the raunchiest things imaginable there, lol!

(And people love you, so GO FOR IT. I actually like posting on ff.net because of the story notification feature.)

I don't post PWP on FFnet but I do post long fics which have graphic sex in some chapters. Nobody has ever complained; I think that´s the key, too.

I loved the drabble, the picture and the comic. The comic was very funny (and hot).

Isn't it fun when fics are translated? Two of mine are being in the process of being translated - one into Spanish, one into Italian - and I can't wait to read my fic without being able to understand it! Also, being asked if someone can translated your fic is approximately the most flattering thing ever.

Personally I wouldn't post PWP to the Pit of Voles, but for long fic anything goes. You're only in trouble if someone complains, and they usually don't.

I took my stuff down from ff.net, but I agree with what others have already said. I don’t think the admins there delete a story unless they've received complaints.

It's be great to see you on ff.net. It's such a huge audience. As a reader, I like ff.net functionality: email notices and page width customization. Never saw much PWP on it, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. (My ff.net notices are mostly gen and crossover.)

I post on FF because I am review nut too. I too had a similar question when I began. I mean, what does NC-17 even mean? My husband seemed to think it mean the word "cock" and told me just to replace the word with something else. I was thinking zuchinni.

But yeah, I just do what I want until someone tells me otherwise. So put all your stuff on there and see what happens. Be a rebel. :)

God. Who knows what the dealio with FF.net is? I post there (albeit grudgingly now), because that's where I started; right before FF.net went cock-up and started being where all the crap writing is. There's still some old good stuff on there, and some people who have been around forever I still watch, who still write well, but generally? Blah.

I semi-censor all of the stuff I post (if it has that kind of content) just because I don't want to go there. I have seen some explicit stuff that either never got purged, or because no one there gives a shit anymore. Most everyone thinks it's BS anyway. Though FictionAlley still has issues with it too: no acutal mentions of the cock, please! Er...yeah, okay, whatever. Their posting system is annoying enough without mods thinking they're allowed to gank you on every, single, little frakking thing. Ahem. 'Scuse me while I try not to rant.

But I just really don't want to go there; getting found by crazy parents or otherwise. I just tell people to read the good stuff on my site. It may not be password-protected, but I've got warnings, and it's not outright porn with pics and everything, so if anyone has a problem with it, they can get stuffed. My web host doesn't have a problem with it.

Also, I don't post my pieces in fanfiction.net. Actually, I've gotten away from posting my work in most places. Typically I'm either writing for a fest or for me so I'm either posting on my journal or the comm that is hosting the fest. Originally I did post on adultfanfiction.net, but haven't for over a year.

I just read your one-shot "Of Thwarted Plan" (and rec'd it on my fic journal (http://darkestmidnight.insanejournal.com) so thought I'd pop over and check out your journal. I saw you ask the above question and felt the need to answer.

Yes, I do post my stuff at FFN (including the porny ones) but I have a note in my profile that states that if any of my stuff gets deleted from FFN they can find the uncensored versions at HPFandom.net, AdultFanfiction.net and Foreverfandom.net. Those three sites have no restrictions on content, so long as there's warnings posted about possible squick. Lately, I've been censoring my newer stuff on FFN and directing people to one of the three sites for the smexxing bits. It's always good to have a backup in case someone reports you on FFN. Your best bet (if you haven't already) is to get an account at Foreverfandom and HPFandom. Don't go to AdultFanfiction...they're way of posting fics leaves something to be desired (especially if you're new to the site).

Did I mention I loved "Of Thwarted Plans"? Draco made me laugh as he watched his fantasy come to life in the RoR. LoL.
